Large animals travel more slowly to avoid overheating

The daily and seasonal movements of large animals like the Sri Lankan elephant take place within a mosaic of natural habitats which are becoming increasingly fragmented by anthropogenic land-use changes such as deforestation and agricultural cultivation.
